There are several recurring and upcoming events with explicit needs for volunteers from the community to help out. Unless otherwise specified, you can reach out to [email protected] to volunteer.
If you are a member of an organization of or know someone who helps out with an organization in our community (school parent council, churches, community groups, etc), please let us know about them at [email protected]. We are trying to build the CGOW Community Network and we could use your help.
If you have a neighbour or relative who lives nearby who you think may be interested in helping out with one of these events, forward this message or encourage them to join as a member of the community association and sign up to be a volunteer themselves. It’s free and being a member also gets you our monthly newsletter delivered directly to your inbox. We’re also running a friendly membership drive competition, each person you get to register earns you points towards bragging rights.
If you’re looking for other ways you can get involved in the community, check out our ‘CA Starter Kit‘.

Plan a New Event
The association is always considering new potential events, you can always see what we’ve got going on in our Roadmap. If volunteers are willing to take the lead on planning new events, the association is ready to support community building activities. These events could be something happening soon, or could be something to start planning now for next year.
Possible events that would need community volunteers to organize include:
- Walking groups,
- Social nights (for seniors, young adults, professionals, etc),
- Drop-In Activities for Kids
Getting involved now means you can help shape these events from the ground up.
