Current Volunteer Opportunities

There are several recurring and upcoming events with explicit needs for volunteers from the community to help out. Unless otherwise specified, you can reach out to [email protected] to volunteer.

If you have a neighbour or relative who lives nearby who you think may be interested in helping out with one of these events, forward this message or encourage them to join as a member of the community association and sign up to be a volunteer themselves. It’s free and being a member also gets you our monthly newsletter delivered directly to your inbox. We’re also running a friendly membership drive competition, each person you get to register earns you points towards bragging rights.

If you’re looking for other ways you can get involved in the community, check out our ‘CA Starter Kit‘.

Upcoming Events & New Initiatives

Several upcoming and potential events present opportunities to get involved in the planning and execution stages:

  • *NEXT* Pumpkin Alley (Evening of November 1): Still early planning for this, but you can see some details from our event last year to get a sense of what’s coming.
  • Drop-in Kids Rec Activities (starting this fall): Looking for volunteers to help run a free monthly drop-in time in a local gym space for a few hours. If you’re interested in helping to plan this or attending it, let us know.
  • Later, this Winter
    • Moonlight Ski (au clair de lune) – December / January: Coming in a few months, if helping to plan this event interests you, get in touch.
    • Winter Carnival (d’hiver) – January / February: This fun annual event needs lots of volunteers to run smoothly. If you’re interested in helping out with planning or helping run the event on the day, please let us know.

How to Get Involved

Plan a New Event

The association is always considering new potential events, you can always see what we’ve got going on in our Roadmap. If volunteers are willing to take the lead on planning new events, the association is ready to support community building activities. These events could be something happening soon, or could be something to start planning now for next year.

Possible events that would need community volunteers to organize include:

  • Walking groups,
  • Social nights (for seniors, young adults, professionals, etc),
  • Drop-In Activities for Kids

Getting involved now means you can help shape these events from the ground up.

Contact Us

One good way to get involved with community association event planning is to join the Community Forum on Discord, where much of the event planning and discussion takes place. For general inquiries or to share your own ideas, you can always email the association at [email protected].
