St. Matthew High School Book Drive

This spring, our club is organizing a school-wide book drive fundraiser, and we are extending the opportunity to support this cause to members of our wider community. We are collecting new or gently used books, with a special focus on children’s books, board books for infants, French novels, and books that reflect cultural diversity—titles that are most in demand among the communities we serve. In addition to books, we are also gratefully accepting donations of school supplies such as crayons, pencils, and other basic items that many families are unable to afford.

Alongside our school’s internal efforts, we have planned a community drop-off day on Thursday, May 22nd, and I warmly invite you to participate. If you have books or supplies you would like to donate, you are welcome to drop them off anytime between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at St. Matthew Catholic High School, located at 6550 Bilberry Drive, Orléans. A clearly marked donation bin will be placed outside the front office for your convenience.

All donations will be distributed directly to families within our school community who have expressed a need, as well as to Twice Upon a Time, a nonprofit organization that distributes the donated books to low-income households with children aged 0 to 12. Our goal is simple yet powerful: to ensure that no child is denied the joy of reading or the opportunity to learn because of financial hardship. Education should be a right, not a privilege.
