Local community is going to be increasingly important in 2026 and beyond, and if you feel like helping out in any capacity, we’re still recruiting for the community association Outreach Committee, please email [email protected] if you’re interested.

Upcoming Events

Play Social – des Voyageurs School

Saturday, January 31st – 9:30 AM – 12 PM

Come out and take part in our first play social event. Bring an activity or some sports equipment and enjoy the morning with friends and neighbours out of the cold.

This is our first time trying an event like this, if you’d like to help host one at a local school or other venue, get in touch!


2026 🌕 Moonlight Ski Night ❄️

Sunday, February 1, 2026 – 7 PM

Winter is better when we enjoy it together. Join your neighbours for a Moonlight Ski Night, celebrating healthy outdoor activity, fresh air, and the joy of being active as a community. Whether you’re an experienced skier or just coming out to soak up the atmosphere, everyone is welcome!

2026 Family Day Winter Carnival

Saturday, February 14, 2026 – 1-4 PM

Join the CGOW CA for an afternoon of outdoor fun for the family! We’ll be serving hot chocolate (bring your own mug!) and there will be plenty of games.

Bring your skates to take advantage of our outdoor rink, maintained by our exceptional group of volunteers.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be held February 15.


2026 National Capital Greenbelt Forum

Canadian Museum of Nature – Saturday, Feb 21 – 1 – 5 PM

CPAWS-OV is having the very first National Capital Greenbelt Forum, taking place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 1:00–5:00 p.m. at the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa.

This Forum launches our new campaign dedicated to ensuring that the National Capital Greenbelt is Protected, Connected, and Restored into the future. To make this initiative truly collaborative, we are bringing together a wide variety of local representatives  (community associations, environmental organizations, and other key stakeholder) to share insights that will help shape stronger protections for the Greenbelt.

The Orléans Community Network is a way for different organizations and community groups to keep in touch, share information, events, and best practices, and unite in advocacy on relevant issues. It’s also a great way for residents to find and get in touch with community groups that are active in Orléans.

Y Neighbourhood Summer Day Camps Are Coming to Orleans!

Looking for an exciting, close-to-home summer experience? Y Neighbourhood Day Camps offer unforgettable adventures for kids aged 4 to 12! Campers take part in exciting activities and field trips based on weekly themes. Whether your child loves nature, sports, art, or outer space, there’s something fun for everyone.

For a more immersive outdoor adventure, YMCA Camp Otonabee is just ten minutes north of Kanata! This 30-acre camp offers day, overnight, and leadership programs for youth aged 4 to 16. Build skills and take part in activities like nature crafts, shelter building, high ropes, canoeing, and more.

Camps start at $264 per week, with financial assistance available.

CA Board of Directors Meeting – February 9 – 7:30 PM

Every month, the Board of Directors of the Community Association holds a meeting to discuss ongoing community association matters. If you’d like to bring up something the board should discuss, send us an email at [email protected].

Volunteer Opportunities

We have a ton of ongoing opportunities to get involved, please have a look at the full list (linked). Please reach out if you’re interested.

  • Volunteer Coordinator
    • Send regular updates to volunteer group about new and upcoming opportunities
    • Help event planners find volunteers
    • Help recruit new community volunteers
  • Events Coordinator
    • Keep track of upcoming events with leads
    • Make sure events have a poster, date/time, RSVPs, booking, etc.
  • A/V Expert/Coordinator
    • Someone that can help out with in-person events that need video or sound to help set things up
    • Can give advice for possible purchases in this area
  • Local Experts/Coordinators
    • We’d love to hear from you if you are interested in representing your specific area’s interests within the community association. Our boundaries include Convent Glen North and South, as well as Orleans Wood and everything north of St Joseph and west of Place d’Orléans, and we hear from some parts of the community much more than others.
  • School Parent Council Liaisons
    • If you’re affiliated with a parent council, in the community we’d love to be in touch to coordinate events where appropriate.
