Hello Convent Glen Orleans Wood CA Members, I frequently hear from people who aren’t aware of our ongoing and upcoming events, so I’ll share them here. You can also check out the following pages at any time for the latest community information:
Recurring Events (Next 7 Days)
These are part of the “Community Connections” initiative designed to foster in-person social interaction in the community.
- Yoga in the Park – Weekly on Wednesdays (last one): You can join the last session of this summer on Wednesday, August 27 at 7:00 p.m..
- Community Cafe – Weekly on Sundays: Pending good weather and volunteer availability (reach out if you’d like to help), the coffee bike cart will be operating at Voyageur Park on Sunday, August 31, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.. This provides a venue for residents to connect over freshly brewed coffee and local treats.
- Pedal and Play – Weekly on Saturdays: The next family bike ride is (pending weather and volunteer availability; reach out if you’d like to lead a ride) scheduled for Saturday, August 30, at 10:00 a.m.. These rides are designed to help families explore the community on two wheels and connect with other neighbors.
Other Upcoming Events
- Community BBQ: The annual barbecue is scheduled for Sunday, September 7. The time is 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m..
- CA Board of Directors Monthly Meeting: The next monthly meeting is on Monday, September 8, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.. The board discusses ongoing neighbourhood matters, and members of the community can request to attend.
- Repair Cafe: The Convent Glen Orleans Wood Environment Committee will be hosting its second (annual) Repair Cafe on September 27. It will take place at the Orleans United Church from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.. These are community-led events where volunteers help residents repair household items for free.
- Kidical Mass Orleans: A “Kidical Mass” ride is planned for September 27. The time is from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m..
