Convent Glen Orléans Wood Community Association Announces a Summer of Community Connection and Fun Events!
Orléans, ON – June 7, 2025 – The Convent Glen Orléans Wood Community Association (CGOW CA) is thrilled to announce its vibrant slate of summer events designed to bring neighbours together and celebrate the season. Residents of all ages are invited to participate in a variety of weekly and one-off activities, from a community café to family bike rides, and a much-anticipated community BBQ to end off the summer.

The latest summer event is our Community Café (branded as CGOW.ca/fe) starting on Sunday, June 8th, from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at Voyageur Park. This recurring event provides a wonderful opportunity for residents to connect with their neighbours over a cup of coffee and learn more about the work and initiatives of the community association. We’ve got a great summary of our full summer events lineup at cgow.ca/connections.
“We have an engaged and enthusiastic team working within the community association to deliver on our mandates. Our surveys have told us you are seeking more ways to engage with each other, and we’ve listened.” says Arnold van den Hoeven, Board Director and member of the Outreach Committee. “Of greatest importance is our ability to engage with each other and to make and deepen our connections within the community. We are happy to announce these new and annual initiatives that will be seeking to connect us all in a fun and social way this summer.”
The excitement is already off and running with weekly Pedal and Play family bike rides starting from Father Richard Ward Park and our weekly Community Cafés starting at Voyageur Park. The community spirit continues with a series of Pop-Up Park Picnics, starting on June 21st from 2-5 PM at Hiawatha Park.
As the summer continues, residents can enjoy free Yoga in the Park every Wednesday evening in July and August at Décarie Park, beginning July 2nd, and gardening enthusiasts can visit the Native Plant Sale at the Heart of Orléans Market on Sunday, July 6th. The entire season of events will culminate with the annual Community BBQ on Sunday, September 7th at Convent Glen Shopping Centre, promising a day of yummy food and family fun.
