The Community Association is thankful to have Dominion City Brewing Company as a gold-level community builder, supporting the association in fulfilling its mandate and strategic vision. Our Vision is to be a trusted partner in the creation of a vibrant, healthy and sustainable community that fosters diversity, inclusion and community connection amongst residents and local businesses.
Dominion City was established to make great beer and bring people together in community. Today, their beer reflects the people and land that make it possible: with hops from a family-owned farm on the shores of Lake Erie, a significant and growing amount of malted barley from Ontario farmers and micro-maltsters in Mississippi Mills and north of Belleville. They even foraged ingredients and captured wild yeast with friends in Kitigan Zibi, and collaborated with friends at Hinterland Winery on a series of innovative wine-beer hybrids featuring the best grapes our province has to offer. As a community builder, they’ve teamed up with independent producers through creative collabs and other community initiatives, as well as Friends of the Dominion, which offers a curated selection of great food, beer, wine and cider from across Canada.
We are building our partnerships with local businesses and owners from within our catchment to strengthen our organization, our ties to residents and local businesses. Dominion City also support emerging issues and causes in the community – partnering with nonprofits and small businesses to make a difference. They just released Glorious and Free, a Trans-Canada brewery collaboration to support local breweries and growers. It’s about bringing everyone together, to take action for our local communities and strengthen Canada at a crucial moment in our history. This is a beer intended to be about something bigger. Stories have the power to build understanding, bridge differences, and bring people together. A portion of the proceeds from every can sold supports the Writers’ Trust of Canada and their mission to advance, nurture, and celebrate Canadian writers and writing so that our country’s voices are heard from coast to coast to coast.
